While I still hold firm that quite a few gems can be gleaned from Reveal and Around the Sun, the slickness of those albums would have killed off any lingering old school fan who initially turned up their nose at the band’s jump from IRS to Warner Bros in the late ’80s. of the ’00s usually falls in line to the tune of a cracker jack live band whose records stop short of the greatness of its ’80s and ’90s output.
